The regional helicopter magnetic survey shows a northeast-southwest-orientated \u201cbullseye\u201d magnetic anomaly coincides with the Sujung and Deogman deposits. Satellite imagery reveals similar structural trends, as well as concentric radial fracture patterns, consistent with the presence of an underlying \u2018blind\u2019 intrusion.<\/p>\n
Reconnaissance prospecting exploration by KML indicates the Susan granite<\/em> is a layered sill intrusion, with disseminated wolframite relatively common within the quartz porphyry endoskarn facies. Proximal tungsten-molybdenum skarn is developed along the intrusive contact within carbonate rocks. The presence of fluorine, beryl and tungsten are diagnostic features that indicate the Susan granite <\/em>is an alkalic porphyry molybdenum intrusion. A series of northwest striking quartz-carbonate-wolframite veins are hosted within the Cretaceous Susan granite<\/em> that intruded Ordovician carbonate sediments. Limited mining occurred during 1941-1944 at the Jungbo, Suri and Deogman workings.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Limited exploration was conducted by the KMPC during the 1960-1970s. Underground adit rock chip channel sampling was used by the KMPC to assess the high-grade sheeted quartz-carbonate-molybdenum vein mineralization. Using this sampling data, the KMPC (1976b) estimated a mineral resource at the Sujong Mo mine, but is classified under the JORC Code 2012 as an Exploration Target of 0.1-0.2Mt @ 1.00-2.47% MoS2<\/sub>.<\/p>\n Cautionary Statement: This foreign historical mineral resource was estimated by KMPC (1976b) on the basis of historical data, sample spacing and continuity of interpreted zones. Due to the historical data, this resource is classified as an Exploration Target under the JORC (2012) Code.
